How Do I Move a Sketch Entity?

Sketch entities cannot be moved directly with the Move tool, as they are tied to the sketch plane. To move a sketch, you must either move the sketch plane or transfer the sketch to a different sketch plane.

If the sketch plane is a reference plane:

• Double-click a reference plane to edit it. Your options for editing a reference plane will vary based on how the plane was created. Resize a reference plane by selecting a corner point or an edge and dragging it with the Move tool.
• Or you can right-click on the reference plane in the History Browser and select Edit, then select Break Reference in the microdialog to make the plane unreferenced. You can then use the Move tool to move the unreferenced plane, and the sketch will move with it.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the sketch in the History Browser and select Change Sketch Plane to move the sketch to a different plane.
