Material Starter Packs
These packs are simulation files each containing a material model. A material model consists of particle shapes, particle size distributions, material properties (such as Density and Shear Modulus), material interactions (such as Coefficients of Friction and Restitution) and contact model specific properties such as JKR cohesion or similar.
The installation location of these files is in EDEM folder > Examples.
In Windows, the Examples folder is located in Program Files, and due to file permissions, the materials cannot be accessed from this location. They must be installed in the following user directory:
Linux
cd ~/2022.3/altair/EDEM/bin
Windows
The starter packs can be found at the following location:
C:\Program Files\Altair\2022.3\EDEM\bin\examples
The Powder starter pack naming convention refers to the compressibility and the flow properties from the angle of repose tests.
