Basic Soil Properties

Description

The basic soil properties are used to estimate the shearing forces (Janosi approach) and grouser forces (McKyes approach). For the basic option, the parameters in this topic are used directly in the calculation. For the advanced option, some of these parameters may be used as reference only.

The filepath: project directory/Input_Files/Basic/soil_properties.dat.

Parameters

PHIbasic: (REAL); The internal angle of soil friction.; The soil friction coefficient=tan (PHI).
DELTAbasic: (REAL); The internal angle of soil-grouser friction.; If 0>DELTAbasic, then DELTAbasic=PHIbasic*|DELTAbasic|.
DENSITYbasic: (REAL); The soil density, soil mass/volume.
Cbasic: (REAL); The cohesion of the soil.
CAbasic: (REAL); The cohesion between the soil and the grouser.; If 0>CAbasic, then CAbasic=Cbasic*|CAbasic|.
