For truss elements, if $ν \neq 0$ the cross section variation is computed as:(1)

Where, $υ$ is the Poisson's ratio given in the material law.
The truss is activated only if:(2)
$L e n g t h_{t r u s s}^{c u r r e n t} < L e n g t h_{t r u s s}^{i n i t i a l} - G a p_{i n i}$

The current distance between truss nodes is smaller than the initial length minus Gap_ini.
Gap_ini should be Gap_ini > 0. Negative Gap_ini. will be treated as 0. The truss will not be activated in tensile.
