Basic Setup

Define the parameters for a quick, general casting process.

  1. Click the Basic Setup icon.
  2. Select Initial Velocity or Filling Time.

Basic Setup Options

Initial Velocity (m/s)
Define the velocity at the predefined gate.
Note:
  • In gravity casting, velocities tend to be around 0.5–1.0 m/s.
  • In high pressure die casting, velocities tend to be around 2.0–5.0 m/s at the filling system piston gate and 30–40 m/s at the cast part gate.
Filling Time (s)
Select this option if you have calculated the exact filling time required for your process. Inspire Cast internally converts the filling time to velocity.
