The Curves panel allows you to input an xy data set from an ASCII file.  As a result, a xy curve is created that represents that data graphically.  This panel can be used to define/import the load curve that can be assigned to the blank material by editing the material card image.

internal

The internal subpanel allows you to edit, update and view the curve points.  You can also view the xy plot by clicking on the display toggle (a plot having the same name, as a curve will be created if it does not exist).

external

The external subpanel reads xy-data files used for creating curves (see format sample below).

If you do not name the curve, HyperForm assigns a default name (curve-1, 2...).

 

How do I...

expand-green-10Create an internal curve
1.Click on curve and enter a name.
2.Enter the x and y values for the curve.
3.Click create.

Select the preview check box to see a simple preview graph appear in the corner of the graphics area that previews the curve as you enter data. You can also click Edit… to open the Curve Editor, which provides advanced curve editing features.

1.Using the file = field, point to the xy data file.
2.Click create.

Select the preview check box to see a simple preview graph appear in the corner of the graphics area that previews the curve once you have loaded the data file. You can also click Edit… to open the Curve Editor, which provides advanced curve editing features.
