Mesh Conditioning

Independent of the solution adaptive actions, the Mesh Conditioning option provides a mechanism for manually conditioning the mesh. Mesh conditioning is typically performed prior to the first solution pass, and is limited to global refinements/enrichments. The options available on this panel include:

Field

Description

Enrich globally

This option increases the polynomial order (p) of all elements to the order given by Min p-order. It does not decrease the order of elements with values greater than Min p-order.

Refine globally

This option refines all elements to the level given by Min h-level. It does not unrefine elements with refinement levels greater than Min h-level.

Control grading

This option refines the mesh to control the relative size of neighboring elements.

Dismiss

This option closes the panel.
