This command is used to specify criteria used for tool movement and deformation calculations. The tool can be elastic or rigid. When the tool is elastic, HyperXtrude uses the shear stress and hydrostatic pressure on tool surface to estimate tool deflection. In addition, the tool can be stationary or move (for example, the dummy block or ram in aluminum extrusion).
Syntax
SetDeformationType SetOfElements DeformationType
Comments
Here SetOfElements is the name of a elements.
Valid entries for DeformationType are:
Option |
Description |
Example |
StationaryRigid |
Tool remains fixed and skip the element set during deflection calcuations step. |
Container in aluminum extrusion |
StationaryElastic |
Tool remains fixed but allowed to defrom due to surface tractions and thermal loads. |
Die block during direct extrusion |
MovingRigid |
The tool is allowed move as a rigid body. Skip the element set during deflection calcuation step. |
Dummy block during direct extrusion |
MovingElastic |
The tool is allowed move as a rigid body and allowed to defrom due to surface tractions and thermal loads. |
Die block during indirect extrusion |
