Scattering Width of an Infinite Cylinder

Calculate the scattering width of an infinite cylinder. The infinite cylinder is modelled using an one-dimensional periodic boundary condition (PBC).

The scattering by a circular cylinder¹ is computed by:

(1) $SW=\frac{1}{\lambda } \underset{\rho \to \infty }{\lim }\left[2\pi \rho \frac{\mid E_z^s{\mid }^2}{\mid E_z^i{\mid }^2}\right]$ .
