Creating the HRRP Model

Execute the CF_generate_high_resolution_range_profile.lua application macro in CADFEKO to set up a model to generate the data for a high-resolution range profile.

  1. Open the Missile_HRRP.cfx in CADFEKO.
  2. Execute the CF_generate_high_resolution_range_profile.lua application macro in CADFEKO
The HRRP generation dialog is displayed.

Figure 1. The HRRP generation dialog.
  3. Under Definition method, select Specify frequency (start, end, number of samples) to set up a high-resolution range profile using start frequency, end frequency and number of frequency samples.
  4. Enter the Frequency and Down-range parameters (Follow Step 4 to Step 5 in Example 1: Cylinder HRRP for creating an HRRP profile).
  5. Enter a different start angle and end angle for the Phi or Theta component (following the steps as indicated in Step 6 and Step 7 in Example 1: Cylinder HRRP for creating an HRRP profile).
Note: Multiple incident angles are required to generate a 2D profile.
  6. Under Polarisation, enter a value for the Polarisation angle (deg) in degrees to specify the plane wave source information for the polarisation of the plane wave.
  7. Under Polarisation, deselect Calculate orthogonal polarisations to activate the calculation of both polarisations for the plane wave.
  8. Click Generate to set up the model for the specific high-resolution range profile.
  9. Run the model.
Tip: Use the “Farm RCS sweep to a cluster” application macro to speed up the simulation by dividing the HRRP model over the frequency and angles of incidence.
