Restart for Fatigue Analysis

Restart for fatigue analysis is available from linear static analysis results, local model results, and random response results.

Fatigue Restart from Linear Static Analysis Results

An .h3d file containing results from a linear static analysis can be imported into a dummy linear static subcase. A subsequent fatigue analysis subcase can be used to conduct fatigue analysis based on the imported linear static analysis results. The following example illustrates the setup.
ASSIGN,H3DRES,10,linear_static.h3d

SUBCASE         1
  ANALYSIS=STATIC
  IMPORT(SUB=1)=10
SUBCASE        21
  FATDEF   =   100
  FATPARM  =   252
  FATSEQ   =   401
BEGIN BULK

FATSEQ,401
+,501,1
FATEVNT,501,601
FATLOAD,601,701,1,1.000,5.00,0.0

Fatigue Restart from Local Model Results

(Imported global model .h3d-submodeling)

An .h3d file containing results from the global model (submodeling) can be imported into a dummy local analysis static subcase which contains the corresponding global-local interface setup via SPC/SPCD with the M option for mapping. For more information, see the Global-Local Analysis (Submodeling) User Guide. A subsequent fatigue analysis subcase can be used to conduct fatigue analysis based on the results coming from the local model. The following example illustrates the setup.
ASSIGN,H3DRES,10,global.h3d

SUBCASE         1
  SPC=11
  IMPORT(SUB=1)=10
SUBCASE        21
  FATDEF   =   100
  FATPARM  =   252
  FATSEQ   =   401
BEGIN BULK

Fatigue Restart from Random Response Results

(Restarted from .h3d coming from FRF analysis results)

An .h3d file containing results from a frequency response analysis can be imported into a random response subcase. Then a subsequent fatigue analysis subcase can be used to conduct fatigue analysis based on the random response analysis results. The following example illustrates the setup.
ASSIGN,H3DRES,10,frf.h3d

SUBCASE       1
  ANALYSIS=MFREQ
  IMPORT(SUB=1)=10

SUBCASE         2
  ANALYSIS=RANDOM
  RANDOM = 100

SUBCASE       9
    LABEL fatigue
  ANALYSIS FATIGUE
    FATDEF =       13
    FATPARM =      15
    FATSEQ =       23
