OS-E: 2035 Stress and Strain Responses Based on the Neuber Correction Method

The objective is to reduce the stress concentration at the fillet regions of the model by changing its shape.

Define the shape modifications and the nodal movements to reflect the shape changes. The valve is modeled using first order Tetra elements.

Model Description

Objective
Minimize the change in mass
Minimize the static stress to a value less than 330 using Neuber correction response
Design Variables
Shape Design Variables

This example has a half symmetric valve, which is modeled using first order tetra elements and has a force applied on it at a specific location. A shape ID is created using HyperMorph and the Shape design variables is created. A static stress response is created with Neuber correction and a mass response defined by an equation to minimize the change in the mass. A design constrain is defined for static-stress response.
