Server Status

The Server Status page displays information detailing the current status of Automator.

To view the Server Status page, click Automator and select Server Status.

The Server Status page includes the following information:

  • Refresh Status

    • Interval (in seconds): Specify the refresh status interval in seconds.

    • Refresh Now: Click the button to refresh status now.

    • Automatic: Select this check box to refresh status at the specified interval automatically.

  • Server Status

    • Info from database

      • Standard Processes

        • Custodian Status: Shows whether the custodian schedule is running.

        • Jobs/Processes Currently Executing: Shows the number of jobs in "Running" status. Hover over the icon to view the names of the jobs.

        • Process Queue Entries: Shows the number of Standard Processes in the queue that have not been picked up by the dispatcher. Click the Delete button  to clear the current queue of Standard Processes. Hover over the icon to view the names of the processes in queue.

        • Active Jobs/Processes: Shows the number of all jobs with the following status: “Process ready to run,” “Process awaiting retry after a failed run attempt,” “Process ready to run,” “Job running,” “Export failed and will be retried,” “Process resolving Web addresses in a manifest,” “Dispatcher host is not responding,” and “Process is running PreProcess script.” Hover over the icon to view the names of active jobs.

        • Process Count: Shows the total number of processes in the system.

        • Jobs/Logs Count: Shows the total number of jobs in the system.

      • Visual Processes

        • Jobs/Processes Currently Executing: Shows the number of Visual Processes without completed dates and all other Visual Processes except those with the following status: “Process awaiting retry after a failed run attempt,” “Orphan Job,” and “Dispatcher host is not responding.” Hover over the icon to view the names of the processes being executed.

        • Process Queue Entries: Shows the number of Visual Processes in the queue that have not been picked up by the dispatcher. Click the Delete button  to clear the current queue of Visual Processes. Hover over the icon to view the names of the processes in queue.

        • Active Jobs/Processes: Shows the number of Visual Processes without completed dates. Hover over the icon to view the names of the active processes.

        • Process Count: Shows the total number of processes in the system.

        • Jobs/Logs Count: Shows the total number of logs in the system.

    • Info from runtime

      • Standard Processes

        • Jobs/Processes Currently Executing: Shows the number of jobs currently being executed.

        • Active Jobs/Processes: Shows the number of active jobs.

      • Visual Processes

        • Jobs/Processes Current Executing: Shows the number of Visual Processes currently being executed.

        • Active Jobs/Processes: Shows the number of active Visual Processes.

NOTE: The database and runtime values should be ideally equal. However, in some cases, the database values may not be updated immediately once a job or process is executed. In this scenario, the database and runtime values will not be the same.

    • The number of processes in the system: Shows the number of processes that have been reached but have NOT exceeded the number allowed by the license.

    • NOTE: If the number of processes in the system exceeds the number allowed by your license, the following message appears instead:

“The maximum number of allowed processes per your license (XX) is exceeded.” The number of processes is the total count of Visual and Standard Processes.

       

    • CPU Cores Usage: Shows the number of CPU cores available for the system.

    • NOTE: When the number of CPU cores allowed by your license is exceeded, the following message appears:

“The maximum number of allowed CPU cores per your license (XX) is exceeded.” Here, “XX” is the number of CPU cores allowed by your license.

  • Dispatcher Status: Displays a summary of the server status, including the server name, number of running jobs/Visual Processes, and number of jobs/Visual Processes in queue.

  • Operations

    • Orphan Automator Jobs: Shows the number of jobs that are stuck in the running state and belong to hosts that do not exist in the current configuration.

      • Reset: Clicking this button executes the orphan Automator jobs on existing hosts

      • Cancel: Clicking this button cancels the orphan Automator jobs and sets them in canceled state (NOTE: For orphan Automator jobs with schedules, they will be executed accordingly on the basis of the schedules specified and will not be placed in canceled state)

    • Stuck Automator Jobs: Shows the number of jobs that are stuck in the execution state because the host that performed these jobs is not responding.

      • Reset: Clicking this button executes the stuck Automator jobs on available hosts

      • Cancel: Clicking this button cancels the stuck Automator jobs and set in canceled state (NOTE: For stuck Automator jobs with schedules, they will be executed accordingly on the basis of the schedules specified and will not be placed in canceled state)

    • Job Processing Status: Shows the current job processing status.

      • Start: Click this button starts the Automator Dispatcher Service Host. Starting the dispatcher enables the running of new jobs.

      • Stop: Click this button stops the Automator Dispatcher Service Host. Stopping the dispatcher disables the running of new jobs.

NOTE: When the Job Processing Status is disabled, a notification in the Admin interface and the logs would indicate the disabled status of the Automator Dispatcher Service Host.
