A document type is defined by its layout or structure. An invoice is an example of a document type. All instances of a document type display the same types of information using the same format, though the actual data can vary. For example, Mary's invoice may contain 3 line items, while John's invoice — 11. Both invoices, however, contain index fields for an invoice number, invoice date, and customer name, located in the same relative positions.
All document types used in the system are listed on the Document Types page. To display this page, click Report Warehouse on the Navigation Tree, then click Document Management and select Document Types.
Use this page to add, edit, duplicate, or remove a document type from the list.
