Altair SmartWorks Analytics

Session Timeout

By default a SmartWorks Analytics session remains active for 2 hours. The lifetime of a session may range from 0.10 hour to 500 hours. When a session reaches the end of its lifetime, it is automatically purged to free up resources. If you start a session but do not use it (e.g., you do not configure the Node Viewer or run a node), the session is purged. You can modify session timeout times via the Execution Profiles tab of the SmartWorks Analytics Palette or the Session tab of the Execution Profiles page.

Extending Session Timeouts via the Palette

Steps:

  1. In the Execution Profiles tab of the SmartWorks Analytics Palette, select an execution profile with an active session and click the icon.

  2. Select Extend the session time-out time.

  3.

  4. Enter a new session time-out time in the pop-out box that displays. Note that this time must be in increments of hours.

  5. Click Apply time-out time when you are finished.

  6. The session timeout time is updated. Note that changing the session timeout time resets the timeout period to reflect the new number of hours provided (i.e., if you only have 20 minutes left and you extend the session timeout time to 3 hours, the session timeout time resets and begins counting down from 3 hours).
