Text

Create a 3D text object. You can fill or extrude the text and change the font and size.

  1. On the ribbon, click the Surfaces tab.
  2. Click the Text icon.

  3. Create the text:
    1. Click to define the origin.
    2. Move the cursor to define the height, and then click.
    By default, the word "Text" is created in Arial font with outlines.

    Change the content In the guide bar, type the Text. If you attempt to use a keyboard shortcut composed of a single alphanumeric key or Shift+alphanumeric key and it doesn't perform the associated function as expected, it's because the Text field is active. Shortcuts composed a single alphanumeric key or Shift+alphanumeric key are temporarily disabled when the text field is active so you can edit the text string.
    Change the height
    • Drag the Height manipulator.
    • In the guide bar, type the Height.
     
    Change the font
    1. In the Control Panel, next to Font, click the current font.
    2. In the Select Font window, you can do the following:
      • Define a Writing System.
      • Select a Font, Font Style, and Size.
      • Add a Strikeout and Underline effect.
     
    Only outline the text In the Control Panel, for Text options, select Outlines.  
    Fill and outline the text In the Control Panel, for Text options, select Filled.  
    Extrude and outline the text
    1. In the Control Panel, for Text options, select Extruded.
    2. Optional: Type an Extrusion length.
    By default, the text is extruded 1 unit.
  5. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
