Creation of Tube Points only
Principle of the algorithm
If the user chooses the option for the creation of Tube Points only, the algorithm gets over the selected volumes by means of a direction vector: starting from the input faces it advances towards the output faces and it changes the direction of the vector when this one has the tendency to get out of the volume. In other words, the direction vector tries to reproduce the path of the electrical current flow in its passage along the cable or wire bonding.
At each change of direction for the vector, the algorithm creates a new Tube Point at the center of the volume.
The user can modify the coordinates of the Tube Point simply by editing the entity.
Data to fill in
Before being able to execute the algorithm, the user must complete the dialog box presented in the previous map:
In particular, the user:
- must select the input and output faces that define the track of the direction vector
- must select the list of volumes that the algorithm will take into consideration
- can modify the minimal value of the angle between two consecutive orientations of the direction vector, expressed in degrees. This field permits to the user to adjust the accuracy of the approximation.
Obtained result
The image below shows the result obtained on the volume in turquoise representing a wire bonding:
Ten Tube Points in red are created in order to approximate the volume: they are more concentrated in the zones of direction changes, while they are more rare in the rectilinear parts.
In conclusion, this option of the algorithm permits to the user to choose himself between which Tubes Points to create the Geometric Tubes and what section to assign to them.
