Data import/export context using principles

Presentation

Whatever the destination software and the data nature are, the data import/export context proposes a workflow in 4 steps:
  • Step 1: Definition of a data support
  • Step 2: Definition of a data collection to compute on this support
  • Step 3: Visualization and analysis of the data collection
  • Step 4: Export the collection data

Definition of a data support

The data supports are entities which allows user to define the areas from which data will be extracted and exported. A data support corresponds to a mesh. This mesh can be defined from Flux entities (lines, faces, regions, grids, etc.) or from an imported external mesh.

Definition of a data collection

The data collections allow user to define the data type he wishes to collect on a support. Adding to a generic method based on Flux spatial formulas, different dedicated methods allow to define specific data types (computation of forces, Joule losses, etc.).

Visualization and analysis of the data

In order to evaluate the collected data quality before exporting it, the user can visualize in different ways the data of a collection. It is possible to display data spatial evolution on one solving step, or to create data evolutive curves on one support point.

Export the collection data

For data export, the user disposes of export procedures dedicated to third party software receiving Flux data (OptiStruct, AcuSolve, Nastran). For each software, various kinds of data can be exported. Moreover, the user can generate tabulated data files by defining himself the file columns list.
