Capabilities
The analysis capabilities of Radioss are comparable to those of other standard finite element and multibody dynamics solvers.
Radioss can be used to analyze a wide variety of design problems in which the structural and system behavior can be simulated using finite element and multibody dynamics analysis.
It uses the latest numerical formulations available and fast, robust solver techniques. A partial
list of examples of analysis problems are:
- Full vehicle crash analysis
- Vehicle occupant safety analysis
- Finite Volume (FVM) airbag simulation
- Consumer products drop tests
- Quasi-static nonlinear simulations such as roof crush or rollover protection structure (ROPS)
- Advanced multiphysics simulation using Euler, Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) and Smoothed-Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)
- Fluid-structure interaction, such as airplane ditching
