Get started with Inspire Extrude Metal.
Inspire Extrude Metal offers an analysis tool for virtual testing, validation, correction and optimization of extrusion die designs.
Find answers to Frequently Asked Questions from our users.
Setup and perform an Extrusion analysis.
Typically, the starting point of analysis for Inspire Extrude is a CAD file of die assembly.
Use the Orient tool to set the orientation direction for an extruded profile and correctly position the model along the Z-axis.
Use the Flow Volume tool to create the flow volume to analyze the deformation of the material.
Specify the bearing region using the Bearing tool.
Use the BRS tool to select bearing reference surfaces.
After the bearing is created, the next step is to organize the components of the flow volume.
The Billet tool automatically creates and displays a billet with estimated dimensions.
Use the Materials tool to select and fit materials.
Use the Press Data tool to select the press.
Use the Process Data tool to define the variable time step (VTS) data, billet taper, and heat transfer coefficient.
Use the Analysis tool to submit the job for analysis, inspect the job status, perform post-processing and review job history.
Determine process parameters to produce optimal results for surface quality and die life.
Choose whether to run jobs locally or on a remote job server.
Manually copy a prepared model file and queue it on a remote jobs server.
Add and configure an Altair PBS server to run jobs remotely.
Submit extrusion simulation on local or remote machines.
Define and run an analyis using the Run Analysis tool.
Inspire Extrude creates a PDF report for Steady State analysis. This report explains different aspects of the die, how the material flows during the extrusion and its influence on extrusion load, temperature changes, flow imbalance, and productivity with various images.
Use the Show Analysis Results tool to view the results of an analysis in the Analysis Explorer. View and animate results, add callouts, and compare results from different runs.
View the status of the current run, as well runs for the current model that have not yet been viewed. To see all past runs, you need to view the run history.
View, sort, open, and delete past runs for the current and previous models.
The goal of this process is to classify extracted bearing lines into different groups.
Align the model to its original position in order to import optimized data back into CAD.
