Define parts as bolts.
During geometry import, SimSolid automatically
recognizes hexagonal head bolts. These are used to define bolt tightening loads. For
instances where the bolt cannot be auto-recognized, this function can be used to
manually set the part type to Bolt. Note: Geometry must be “bolt like” with a head and
cylindrical shaped shank.
-
In the Project Tree, expand the Assembly workbench.
-
Right-click on a part from the list, and select Set part type as
bolt from the context menu.
-
In the Set part type as bolt dialog, select the
Contact face at bolt head and Face at bolt
shank.
- Optional:
You can click Apply type to similar parts to set bolt as
the part type for parts similar to the one you selected. A list of similar
shaped parts is presented to accept or reject.
Note: All instances to the selected part are automatically
added to the dialogue and cannot be removed.
-
Click OK.
Parts that can be validated are converted to bolts. Those that cannot
are rejected.
