Edges are the boundaries of faces. Wires are not associated with faces and are often
referred to as “free edges”.
Selecting an edge or a wire in the 3D view selects the corresponding edge or
wire in the details tree. Conversely, selecting an edge or wire in the details tree selects the corresponding edge or wire in the 3D view.
