Reversing Face Normals

Invert the normal of a face.

  1. Select the part for which you want to reverse the face normal.
  2. On the Transform tab, in the Alter group, click the  Reverse Normals icon.

Use a display setting to colour the geometry according to the normal direction of the faces.

  1. [Optional] On the 3D View context tab, on the Display Options tab, in the Style group, click the Colour icon. From the drop-down list select  Element Normal.
    • Geometry
      • Normal side: Green
      • Reverse side: Red
    • Mesh
      • Normal side: Blue
      • Reverse side: Brown
