RCS and Near Field of a Dielectric Sphere

Calculate the radar cross section and the near field inside and outside of a dielectric sphere using the surface equivalence principle (SEP).

The bistatic radar cross section for sphere¹ is computed by:

(1) $\sigma \left(bistatic\right)=\underset{r\to \infty }{\lim }\left[4\pi r^2\frac{\mid {\mathbf{\text{E}}}^s{\mid }^2}{\mid {\mathbf{\text{E}}}^i{\mid }^2}\right]$ .
