Create 2D Plots from Rakes

Use the Plots: Rake tool to render spatial data as a 2D plot using a rake.

  1. From the Post ribbon, click the Plots > Rake tool.

  2. Select the start and end points of the rake.
  3. Use the options in the microdialog to reposition the rake.
    • Click X, Y, or Z to align to the global axes.
    • Click to reposition the center or the end points of the rake with the Move tool. Press Esc after moving.
  4. Click Seeds on the guide bar.
  5. Select the generation method and, if needed, the amount of points.
    Click to adjust the seed radius.
  6. Click Calculate to generate the plot.
  7. In the plot dialog, select the z and y axis variables then click to define display properties.
    Tip: Scroll to zoom in and out on the plot and right-click and drag to pan.
  8. Optional: Right-click on the plot definition in the Post Browser to export the data or an image of the plot.
  9. On the guide bar, click one of the following:
    • - Save changes and remain in the tool
    • - Save changes and exit the tool
Tip: Click the plot entity icon in the Post Browser to toggle the visibility of both the rake and the plot dialog.
