MotionView Overview
MotionView is a general pre-processor for Multi-body Dynamics.
MotionView Menus
Explore the MotionView menus which provide access to the various wizards, dialogs, tools, and panels.
- SolverMode Menu
  The topics/motionview/solver_mode_r.html sets the current the active solver for MotionView.
- Model Menu
  The Model menu provides access to several wizards and dialogs.
- Analysis Menu
  The Analysis menu provides access to the Task Wizard and View Reports dialogs.
- Tools Menu
  The MotionView Tools menu allows you to check a model for errors, select a writer and user mode, and access such panels as Reports, Templex Functions, and Options.
- FlexTools Menu
  The FlexTools menu provides access to Flex Prep, Flex File Gen, Fatigue Prep, and Load Export.
- EDEM Menu
  The EDEM menu provides access to tools related to the MotionSolve - EDEM cosimulation interface.
- Macros Menu
  The Macros menu contains many utilities for use with MDL models.
  - Create Points
    The Create Points macro enables you to create entire sets of points using a variety of methods.
  - Calculate Angles
    The Calculate angles macro enables you to calculate spatial and planar angles between points.
  - Find Connected Entities
    This tool allows you to find entities which are connected to a selected entity (body, joint, or bushing).
  - Create Deformable Surfaces from FEM
    The Create Deformable Surface From FEM macro enables you to quickly create a matrix of explicit markers to be used in defining a deformable surface.
  - Contact Properties Editor
    The Contact Properties Editor macro enables you to edit multiple contact force entities in a model simultaneously.
  - Create Curve From Points/Nodes/Edges/Faces
    The Create Curve From Points/Nodes/Edges/Faces macro allows you to create curve graphics from a set of selected points or nodes, or extract a curve from an edge/face of a geometry represented through CADGraphics.
- Metadata File Generation
  A metadata file is automatically generated when you save the active MDL model as an ADAMS or MotionSolve deck or you run a solver analysis on the active model.
- Metadata File Format
  The metadata file consists of multiple data blocks denoted by keyword pairs.
Project Browser
The Project Browser allows you to view the MotionView model structure while providing display and editing control of entities.

Macros Menu

The Macros menu contains many utilities for use with MDL models.

The following options can be accessed from this menu:

Create Points
The Create Points macro enables you to create entire sets of points using a variety of methods.
Calculate Angles
The Calculate angles macro enables you to calculate spatial and planar angles between points.
Find Connected Entities
This tool allows you to find entities which are connected to a selected entity (body, joint, or bushing).
Create Deformable Surfaces from FEM
The Create Deformable Surface From FEM macro enables you to quickly create a matrix of explicit markers to be used in defining a deformable surface.
Contact Properties Editor
The Contact Properties Editor macro enables you to edit multiple contact force entities in a model simultaneously.
