Flux e-Machine Toolbox: Tests
Running a test
-
run a test in FeMT by clicking on
A dialog box appears in which the user must choose the name of the test and click on .
- run a test through PBS
See Run a test through PBS (by manual Export / Import) for more information
List of tests
Once the test running is done, the test appears at the bottom right. Several tests can be run on a same component, in this case they are listed:
Actions on a test
The possible actions on a test run are:
Display:
Display the test results by double-clicking on it or by right click → DisplayA tab with the name of the test is added in the central area, and it is possible to navigate easily using the filters on the left
Close:
Close the display of a test by clicking on the cross of the tab or by right-click → CloseDelete:
Delete a test by selecting it in the list and by clicking on or by a right-click → Delete- Export a test by selecting it in the list and by clicking on or by a right-click → Export
-
Post-process with a New Command by selecting it in the list and by clicking on or by a right-click → Post-process with a New Command
- Resume
- Resume a failed test by right click → Resume
Test states
A test can have 3 states:
- : the test is successful
- : the test is in progress
- : the test was failed or was interrupted during the Flux computation and this test is potentially resumable
- : the test is failed and it's impossible to resume the computation
Export a test
A test can be exported in 3 different formats:
- pdf format for a report (equivalent to all the content of the central area)
- html format for a report (equivalent to all the content of the central area)
- txt format to postprocess data (a text file by quantity)
- For html and pdf exports, the two maps of Iron losses and Eddy current losses appear black.
- For the txt export, the two .txt files of Iron losses and Eddy current losses are not generated.
Resume an interrupted test
During Altair Flux e-Machine Toolbox computations, it happens that Flux fails (for example because of a lack of memory). In some cases we are able to resume it.
A test is resumable if a crash of Flux happens during the solving stage:
When a test fails and is resumable, a new error dialog is displayed, explaining that is possible to resume this test.
A failed test during Flux computations is identified with the icon if it is resumable.
To try to resume the test right-click on the test and choose Resume:
After clicking on “Resume” menu item, computations will restart from the last solved step.
