Automatic correction of the geometry

Problem

Notice that in Flux PEEC the user must build geometry without defects. A geometric defect in Flux PEEC is an error making during the geometry construction like an intersection of lines or an overlay of lines.

These defects can be troublesome and even can block the geometry construction process: impossible construction of faces and/or volumes.

Tools of automatic simplification

To remove the useless entities and thus reduce geometry as well as give the user a wider view of the structure, Flux PEEC has a tool of automatic simplification.

This tool enables:

  • to remove the points that are not connected to other entities
  • to merge the segments that are located on the tangent of the straight line

The user can use this tool at any time during the geometric and physical description.

This tool of simplification is not useful on the points and lines created by the propagation and extrusion from other points and/or lines.

The tool of automatic simplification is activated from the toolbar of the Conductor by Assimilation menu, by clicking on the icon .

Tools of automatic correction

The user can correct the geometry using the Flux PEEC software automatic correction to remove the following geometric defects:

  • intersections between lines
  • superimposed lines

The user can use this tool at any time during the geometric and physical description, but it is advisable to use the automatic correction after have completed the creation of points and lines. Indeed, the tool is not able to correct defects concerning the lines (intersections and superimposed entities) if they are connected to other entities (for example, faces, volumes,…).

This tool of correction is not useful for the points and lines created by the propagation and extrusion from other points and/or lines.

The tool of automatic correction is activated from the toolbar of the Conductor by Assimilation menu, by clicking on the icon .
