Manipulation of the electric circuit components in the standard context

Selection mode

The selection modes are presented in the table below.

A component of a circuit… Is selectable …
imported
  • in the Data tree
  • in the graphic zone tab CircuitView (if the format contains a graphic description (*.ccs and *.xcir))

Select and Edit a component starting from the data tree

To select and then edit a component of the electric circuit starting from the Data tree:

Select the component in the Data tree:

  • point and click on the desired component
The component is highlighted

Edit the component in the Data tree:

  • double click on the selected component

or

  • click right on the selected component and choose Edit or Edit in a table

The dialogue box corresponding to the component is opened

The user can characterize or modify the circuit component

Select and edit a component in the graphic zone CircuitView

To select a component of the electric circuit starting from the graphic zone available on the CircuitView tab:

Select a component of the circuit:

  • in the tools bar Selection, activate the icon of selection of the desired component
  • in the graphic zone CircuitView tab:
  • click once on the desired component
The component is highlighted

Edit the circuit component:

  • in the graphic zone CircuitView tab:
  • double-click on the desired component

or

  • click right on top and choose Edit or Edit array
The dialogue box corresponding the component is opened

Modifying/ characterizing an electric circuit component

To modify or characterize a component of the electric circuit under the editor (name, comment, model, terminals*):

1 Select the desired component
2 Edit the component or Edit array
The dialogue box corresponding the component is opened

Modify the information in the dialogue box:

  • choose the desired tab (tabs only available for the entities of component types)
  • enter the desired information in the corresponding zones.

Validate the information:

  • click on OK
The component is characterized/modified

Delete a component in the Data tree

To delete a component starting from the Data tree:

1 Select the component to delete

Activate the command:

  • open the contextual menu by the right button of the mouse
  • click on Delete / Force delete
A confirmation box is opened

Confirm the deletion:

  • click on OK
The component is deleted
Note: it is possible to delete several components at the same time only if they are of the same type
