How Do I Move a Sketch Entity?

You cannot move a sketch entity directly with the Move tool. To move the sketch entity, you actually need to move the reference plane on which the sketch was created or transfer the sketch to a different plane.
Do one of the following:
Method Steps
Move the reference plane
  1. To edit the reference plane, do one of the following:
    • Double-click the reference plane.
    • In the History Browser, right-click the reference plane, and then select Edit from the context menu.
  2. For details on how to edit the reference plane, see Create a Reference Plane.
Transfer the sketch to a different plane
  1. In the History Browser, right-click the sketch entity, and then select Change Sketch Plane from the context menu.
  2. In the modeling window, select a new plane or face.
    Note: You may need to constrain your sketch again.
