Fusion of faces / lines: about
Concept of fusion
We call fusion of faces / lines, the operation of regrouping of faces / lines in order to form the main faces / lines of the device geometry.
The corresponding commands are Merge faces and Merge lines
Modes of fusion of faces
Different modes for fusion of faces proposed to the user are presented in the table below.
| Automatic mode: Merge all faces with angle | |

The software searches and regroups into a single face all faces of list of facets type conform to the merging angle . In the same way for the lines of list of edges type (line fusion). |

| Semi-automatic mode: Merge faces with angle | |

| The software searches and regroups into a single face all faces of list of facets type conform to the merging angle starting from a base face chosen by the user |

| Manual mode: Merge N faces | |
|---|---|
| The user defines manually a list of faces of facet type, which will be regrouping in a single face. The user can obtain many faces when selects many “disjoint” faces. |

Mode of fusion of lines
Only one fusion of line mode (automatic) is proposed to the user.

Fusion of lines: specificity
The lines can be manually merged by means of Merge Lines command:
- either immediately, if the imported file contains only line mesh elements
- or after the fusion of faces in semi-automatic or manual mode, if the imported file contains surface mesh elements
