Apply uniform loads and/or displacements to faces, edges, vertices, or
spots.
For dynamic analyses, each load must
reference a time/frequency function curve.Note that Displacement is disabled for Multi-loadcases.
-
In the Project Tree, open
the Analysis Workbench.
-
In the workbench toolbar, click the (Force/Displacement) icon.
-
Specify which type of entity will have constraints
applied.
- Optional:
If applying to Faces, you can select the Add tangent
faces check box.
- Optional:
If applying to Spots, you can create new spots by clicking Create
new spot.
-
In the modeling window, click to select specific parts on the model.
-
Specify the coordinate system to which the force/displacement will be
applied.
The default is set to the Global coordinate system, which is automatically
created upon geometry import.
-
Specify Cartesian or
Cylindrical.
-
Specify the Force and Displacement units.
-
Specify Total load or displacement along the X, Y, and Z axes.
-
Use the drop-down menu beside each field to select
Force or
Displacement.
-
Enter the desired numerical value into the text box.
-
In Non-linear Structural Analysis, specify either follower force or fixed
direction force for each axis.
-
Click the (Follower load) icon.
The icon will highlight. This designates a follower
force.
-
Leave the icon unhighlighted to designate fixed direction force.
-
Click OK.
