Specify User Name Resolution Across the Cluster (Flat UID)

Specify how usernames are treated across all machines in a HPC cluster.

  1. Click the Configure tab.
  2. Choose the HPC to configure.

  3. Click Security from the PBS Professional menu located on the left-hand side of the web page.
  4. Click located to the right of Flat UID.
  5. For Flat UID, choose one of the following options:
    • Enable this option so that user names are treated as being the same across the PBS server and all submission hosts in the PBS complex. Allows users with an account on the execution node but not an account on the Workload Manager Server to submit jobs.
    • Disable this option so that user names are not treated as being the same across the PBS server and all submission hosts in the PBS complex. Users must have accounts on the Workload Manager Server to submit jobs.
  6. Click to save the change.
