Interrupt and resume a solving process

Interrupt / resume a solving process

It is sometimes interesting to interrupt a solving process for relatively long in order to carry out an intermediate verification of the project status. As a result of this verification, it is possible to resume the solving process from the stopping point.

To interrupt/resume a solving process, follow the steps below:

Step Action
1 Interrupting the solving process

In the history zone, stop the process pressing one of the STOP buttons:

  • STOP button for the stop at the end of the current step
  • STOP button for the stop at the end of the current Newton-Raphson iteration (taking into consideration the nonlinearity)
  • STOP button for the stop at the end of the current iteration of the linear system
The solving process has been stopped at the specified stopping point
2 Resuming the process Within the solving process context, click on Continue command
The process is resumed at the previous stopping point (end of the step / end of one NR iteration / end of one iteration of the linear system)

It is also possible to stop the process from the supervisor.
