In CFD modeling, input parts can have topology issues, like free surfaces and self-intersections, and part assembly
issues, such as parts with very close proximity and intersecting parts. Manually connecting these parts can be time
consuming and require expertise in certain tools. The Wrap tool can generate a watertight manifold model from dirty input with considerably less manual work.

Use the Wrap: Run tool to
create wrap from selected parts.
The
Wrap tools work for tessellated geometry. If the input
is b-spline geometry, first convert to discrete geometry using the Convert tool.
If local and proximity controls are defined, they will override the default settings
defined in this tool.
From the Geometry ribbon, click the Wrap > Run tool.
Select parts to wrap.
In the dialog, select a wrapping method.
Tight Wrap
CAD Wrap
Tight wrap uses a traditional wrapping mechanism whereas CAD wrap keeps the
original geometry shape as it is and just fixes areas of issue.
For tight wrap:
Choose whether to wrap the exterior of your selection or the
cavity.
Choose a volume definition.
All - wrap all volumes
Consider enclosed seeds - wrap volume
enclosed by defined seed nodes
Volume Index - useful to get largest or
second largest volume
Exclude enclosed seeds - wrap all volumes
but not volumes with enclosed seed nodes
If needed, use the guide bar selector to
define enclosed seeds.
Define remaining wrap parameters.
Click Run.
After tight wrapping, the generated result is placed in the
first selected part and the part is renamed as “CFD wrap 1”. Since the
wrapped form is manifold, results can be one or multiple solids. The
input selection is removed in order to avoid duplication.
