Enhancements

Beam Property creation for VABS (available for OptiStruct only)
  • The Beam Update tool is available in the Mesh ribbon (1D Mesh tools).
  • Create OptiStruct PBEAML using the VABS file from the composite shell model.
  • Enhancements to support mesh conformality between adjacent elements with different number of plies.
  • A new option is added, HM Entity Create, to generate true elements representing the section.

Enhancements

Improvement in organization and performance of result files
All results that are generated based on a single result file in Risk assessment is now grouped and stored in a H3D file instead of multiple hwascii files.

Known Issues

  • Pre: Long Realization time of E-lines in large models.
  • Post: Combined Loading with a model which only consists of Squeak lines is not supported.
  • Post: Comparing Squeak Results from multiple load cases is not supported.

Resolved Issues

Risk Assessment: Comparing results for multiple load cases with same ID was not working properly due to overwriting issues in hwascii file generation, this is resolved as well as improved.

New Features

Optimization in Model Correlation
New option in Model Correlation utility to set-up optimization set-up for model updating of the simulation model to improve the correlation. Poor modal correlation between test-simulation results can be possibly improved by updating the simulation model. The new option of optimization allows you to create design variables in the simulation model, specify relevant objectives and constraints for the necessary correlation values and submit the optimization run.
Flexible Rim Support in CDTire
New option to consider flexible rim in CDTire handling. This advanced feature automatically creates connection between CDtire and Flexible rim, and allows you to study the effect of rim dynamics on NVH responses.
Non-Linear Stiffness (Force Vs Deflection and Frequency Vs Stiffness) of engine mounts in Mounts Optimization
New feature to specify non-linear stiffness of mounts in terms of Force Vs Deflection or Frequency Vs Stiffness in Mounts Optimization utility. This allows you to simulate real-life stiffness behavior of engine mounts for prediction for mount displacements and reaction forces for different operating conditions.
General Signal Processing for aero-acoustics simulations
New feature for general signal processing to predict NVH responses for aero-acoustic usecases.

Enhancements

Mounts Optimization
Enhancements in defining stiffness based constraints for engine mounts optimization in addition to existing frequency based constraints.
Model Correlation
Enhancement to support test UNV files with modal results partial directions by automatically identifying the directions with result data and use it for calculation of MAC.

Resolved Issues

  • Issue in identifying the subcase IDs in order cut analysis for result files from optimization run.

New Features

Dummy Testdata Positioning
This new feature introduced in the Dummy Positioner tool enables the automatic positioning of an FE Dummy model based on test-lab coordinates measurements data. This tool leads to an important time reduction in the process of positioning dummies in the vehicle. Once the positioning is completed, you have direct visual feedback with the target points entity graphics on the positioning accuracy of the dummy.

Mechanism Constraints
The existing Constraints entity used in the Mechanism tool is renamed to Mechanismconstraints entity. This allows for using the Constraints entity as a solver entity.
