Define the Rendering Settings

Define the image resolution and select a rendering engine.

  1. On the ribbon, click the Rendering tab.
  2. Click the Camera/Rendering icon.

  3. Define the image resolution.
    1. On the Camera tab, do one of the following:
      • Select from a list of Presets.
      • Enter a custom Width and Height.
        Tip:
        • To maintain the aspect ratio, select Keep Aspect Ratio.
        • To swap the width and height, click the Swap button.
    2. Define the image quality:
      360° Panoramic
Select this option to render a panoramic image.
  4. Define the rendering engine.
    1. On the Engine tab, select one of the following options:
      • Raytracing: The standard rendering method, it simulates indirect lighting.
      • Presto/IR: The most efficient rendering method, which is always used for interactive rendering. You might use it to render simpler scenes that wouldn't benefit from a more powerful rendering method, or to create fast approximations of complex scenes.
Note: Presto GPU support for macOS 10.14 (Mojave) and above is unavailable due to driver incompatibility. In this case, CPU is used.
      • Full (Progressive): The most accurate rendering method. It is particularly useful for rendering transparent objects (e.g., caustics and dispersion in gemstones).
    2. Define the settings for the rendering engine.
  5. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
