Plot Dynamics or Incremental Response at Point/Face/Load
Plot the dynamics or incremental response at a selected point, face, or load.
- In the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
- On the workbench toolbar, click the (Pick info) icon.
- In the dialog, choose a Response type from the drop-down menu.

Choose one of the following options
Option Pick point - Select the Pick point radio button.
- Select the desired points in the modeling window.
Pick face - Select the Pick face radio button.
- Select the desired faces in the modeling window.
Pick load This option is only available if Force/Remote face loads are present in the subcase.
- Select the Pick load radio button.
- Under the Loads section of the dialog, select the desired loads.
Choose datum point set This option is only available if Datum points are present in the model.
- Select the Choose datum point set radio button.
- In the dialog, select a point set from the drop-down menu.

Select the picked point, face, or load and click
Evaluate.
The dynamic response is plotted in the XY graph in the dialog. You can use the scroll wheel to zoom in, the left mouse button to pan, or the Refit button to reset the graph.
- Optional: View multiple XY graphs at once by selecting the Show each plot in a separate window check box.
- Optional: Select the Hide labels check box to hide the display of points' label and ID in the graphics.
- Optional:
Select the Evaluate average check box and click
Evaluate to plot the average response of the picked
points or faces.
Note: The selection by face option provides an average of the result value over the selected face.
- Optional:
Save the dynamic responses to a PUNCH file for the selected result.
- Click the Save to PCH and choose Save selected or Save all.
- In the dialog, enter a file name and select a save location.
- Click Save.
This function is supported for Frequency and Frequency multi-loadcase dynamic analyses for displacement, velocity and acceleration result types.Note:- PUNCH file output for displacement/velocity/acceleration magnitudes includes both magnitude and phase outputs along the X, Y, Z directions.
- In case of PUNCH file output for the Pick load option, results along the force direction are output along the local coordinate system used to define the load. All other result types are output along the global coordinate system.
