Add/Edit Core

If you haven't designed any cores in a CAD tool, you can create and edit virtual cores in Inspire Cast.

  1. Click the Casting tab.
  2. Click the Components icon.

  3. On the Core icon, click Add/Edit Core.

Candidates are automatically detected and displayed in red.
  4. Click a red surface to create a core.
The total number of cores is displayed above the Core icon.
  5. Use the microdialog options to define the material and temperature.

  6. Optional: To create more cores, click a red surface. To select other surfaces, press Ctrl and click the surfaces to designate. Double-click any surface to automatically select adjacent surfaces with an adjoining angle less than or equal to the Tolerance Angle defined under the Selection Options menu.

  7. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
To edit a core, click the Add/Edit Core tool, and then click the core.
