Add a Graphical Object to a Component and Define its Properties

  1. From the Add Object panel, select the graphic file containing the object using the Add object from file browser.
The Input File dialog is displayed.
Note: You can input any file supported by HyperView’s readers. Click on the Files of type drop-down menu for a complete listing of valid file types.
  2. Use the Select object drop-down menu to select the object(s) to be added.
    • All - to select all the objects in the graphic file.
    • Browse - to select individual objects from the Choose From List dialog.
Tip: Use the Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple objects.
  3. Click Add.
The selected objects are added to the list.
  4. Select the component with which you want the selected object(s) to move using the Component input collector.
Tip: You can also click the expansion button and pick a component by ID from the Choose From List dialog.
  5. Use the Reference system drop-down menu to select a coordinate system.
    • Local
    • Global
The reference system is used for the positioning and transformation of an object. The numbers applied in the Position tab and Transform tab are relative to the reference system.

The initial position and orientation of an added object are determined using the reference system. Once a component is selected, the available systems in that component are displayed in the list box. For MBD models, all the markers, LPRF, and global system are listed when a component (part) is selected. HyperView places the added object in the position and orientation of the selected system.

  6. Optional: Activate the Auto fit check box to adjust the view so that the graphic and added object fit in the modeling window.
Note: If this option is not selected, the view will not be adjusted.
  7. Click Apply on the Position tab.
The graphical object is added to the component (part).
