Properties

Block Format Keyword

Different properties are available in Radioss and used to describe different elements. Like solid (8-node brick, 4-node or 10-node tetra, shell (3-node or 4-node shell), spring, beam, truss or joint. Together with material it was assembled with /PART for each structure member.

Comments

  1. Property types 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 (SOLID), 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 32, 33, 35, 36, 43, 44, 46, 51 and /PCOMPP are compatible with local units system.
  2. For shell and thick shell composite parts, with /PROP/TYPE10 (SH_COMP), /PROP/TYPE11 (SH_SANDW), /PROP/TYPE21 (TSH_ORTH) or /PROP/TYPE22 (TSH_COMP), materials are defined directly in the property card. The failure criteria defined within these materials (for example, LAW25) are accounted for. Material referred to in the /PART card is only for calculation of time step and contact stiffness.
  3. TYPE1 (SHELL), TYPE11 (SH_SANDW), or TYPE51 properties are compatible with XFEM, provided failure model FLD, JOHNSON, TAB1, or TBUTCHER is used.
  4. /PROP/TYPE51 and /FAIL/TAB1 cannot be used with XFEM yet.
  5. Currently, XFEM is only 2D element compatible.
