Quickly find and open the tools, panels, and browsers that are available from the ribbons or from the Utility
Browser, as well as create entities and solver cards.
Browsers supply a great deal of view-related functionality by listing the parts of a model in a tabular and/or tree-based
format, and providing controls inside the table that allow you to alter the display of model parts.
FE geometry is topology on top of mesh, meaning CAD and mesh exist as a single entity. The purpose of FE geometry
is to add vertices, edges, surfaces, and solids on FE models which have no CAD geometry.
Tools and workflows that are dedicated to rapidly creating new parts for specific use cases, or amending existing
parts. The current capabilities are focused on stiffening parts.
Add metadata to all types of entities. The added metadata can be saved to an
*.hm file.
Restriction: Export of metadata to solver decks is
currently not supported.
Open the Add Metadata dialog in the following ways:
Right-click on an entity or entity folder in the Model Browser and select Add
Metadata.
Adding metadata by selecting a folder adds
metadata to all the entities under the selected folder. Selecting a
single entity or multiple entities of the same type adds metadata to the
selected entities.
Right-click on the Metadata category in the
Entity Editor and select
Add. Figure 1.
Define the metadata tag(s) in the dialog.
Figure 2.
There are 3 types of metadata supported:
Double
Supports adding metadata with decimals.
Integer
Supports adding metadata with integers.
String
Supports adding metadata with alphanumeric characters.
Note: The same name with different case and names with
just numerical characters are not allowed.
Click Apply to add metadata and keep the dialog open, or
click OK to add metadata and close the dialog.
Once the metadata is added, it is shown in the Entity Editor
under the Metadata category. Figure 3.
By right-clicking on the any metadata, it can be added as a browser column in the
supported entity views for bulk reviewing or editing.
An existing metadata can be applied to other entities of the same type from the
browser column. Figure 4.
An existing metadata can be removed/deleted using the Remove
option in the Entity Editor. Figure 5.
