Modify the Lighting
Use Relight to change the power and color of lights during post-processing. This is useful when you want to produce an animation or lighting study. Relight is only available with the Presto/IR and Full (Progressive) rendering engines and the Render in Darkroom tool.

Before you render, enable Relight:
- On the Rendering tab, click the Rendering Settings icon.
- On the Engine tab, select Presto/IR or
Full (Progressive). Note: Relight is not available with the Raytracing rendering engine.
- Select Relight.

Create a
rendering using the Render in Darkroom tool.
The Darkroom opens automatically. When the rendering is complete, it appears in the Image Browser with a "R" in the top right corner to indicate that Relight has been enabled.Important: Relight is not available with the Render tool, even if you select Continue rendering in Darkroom.
- In the Image Browser, double-click the rendering you'd like to edit.

Click the Relight tab.
A thumbnail preview of each light or group of lights is displayed to the right of the animation timeline.

Modify the lighting to create a key:
To Do this Note Define the intensity of a light - When you hover the mouse over the number below the light's name, a double-headed arrow appears. Drag the arrow to the left to decrease the intensity, or drag the arrow to the right to increase the intensity.
- Double-click the number below the light's name, and then enter an intensity.
The default intensity is 1. Change the color of a light Click the rectangle below the number. Select a color, which will be blended with the existing color of the light. For example, if the light was originally red and you select blue, the light will be purple. To avoid blending colors, use the default color of white. Turn on or off a light Click On or Off. To turn on a light and turn off all other lights, click Solo. The other lights that are turned off appear grayed out. - To add the current key to the timeline, click a frame, and then click Add Key Frame.

To add more keys to the timeline, Repeat Steps 5-6.
Tip: You do not need to add a key to every frame. When you export the timeline, intermediate values are automatically calculated for empty frames to create a smoother animation.Note: To navigate between frames:
- To go to the first frame, click First Frame.
- To go to the previous frame containing a key, click Previous Key Frame.
- To go to the previous frame, click Previous Frame.
- To go to the next frame, click Next Frame.
- To go to the next frame containing a key, click Next Key Frame.
- To go to the last frame, click Last Frame.
Note: To reorganize the timeline:- To change the number of frames, enter the number of Frames.
- To move a key, drag it to the preferred frame.
- To remove a key, click the key, and then click Remove Key Frame.
- To remove all keys, click Remove All Key Frames.

Export the animation:
- Click Save Frames.
- Select one of the following options:
- All Frames
- Current Frame
- Selected Frames: Enter the frame numbers. For example, if you want to save frames 0 to 10 and frame 32, enter (0-10,32).
- Click OK.
- Choose the folder where you'd like to save the animation frames. You can save them as .jpg, .png, .tiff, .tga, or .bmp files.
