Adding an Assembly Placeholder

Note: An assembly cannot be added to a system or inline analysis.
  1. From the Add System/Assembly dialog, activate the Assembly radio button and click Next.
    The Add Assembly dialog is displayed.
  2. Activate the Specify data file later radio button and click Next.
  3. Optional: To change the parent entity in which the new assembly will be stored, double-click the Parent collector and select an assembly or analysis from the Model Tree.
  4. Specify a variable name for the assembly.
  5. Specify a label for the assembly.
  6. Assign a type for the assembly if necessary.
  7. Click OK to close the window or Apply to continue creating entities.
    The assembly is added to the model.
  8. To specify a data/definition file for an assembly placeholder, right-click on the placeholder in the Project Browser, click Select Assembly, and define the assembly using the methods described above.
    Note: The data and definition files can be respecified using the Reselect Assembly context menu option available in the Project Browser. This context menu also has an option to deselect an existing assembly to a placeholder.
