Rotational Inertia Load
Apply a uniformly distributed rotational inertia load over the volumes of the parts in an assembly.
- On the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
- In the workbench toolbar, click (Inertia Load) > Rotational inertia.
-
Specify where the translational inertia will be applied in one of the following
ways:
- Activate the Apply to whole assembly radio button to apply to all parts in the assembly.
- Activate the Apply to selected parts radio button, then select desired parts in the modeling window.
- Use the radio buttons to specify either edge or cylinder selection.
-
On the modeling window, click to select specific parts on the model.
This specifies the location of the axis of rotation.Tip: You can fine-tune the location using the X, Y, and X values under Origin and Direction, or dragging the ball in the model.
- Optional: If necessary, select the Flip axis radio button to change the way the axis points.
- Specify the numerical values and Units for Acceleration along axis, Angular velocity, and Angular acceleration.
- Click OK.
