Remote Load
Apply distributed loads (tractions) to faces and/or spots that are statistically equivalent to a load applied on a single point.
- On the Project Tree, open the Analysis Workbench.
- In the workbench toolbar, click the (Remote loads) icon.
- Specify which type of entity will have loads applied.
- Optional: If applying to Spots, you can create new spots by clicking Create new spot.
-
In the modeling window, select the desired face(s) on
the model.
The Units and Remote point coordinates fields will become active and automatically populate.
- Optional: If necessary, edit the Remote point X, Y, and Z coordinates by clearing the Set at COG check box.
-
Specify the coordinate system to which the load or displacement will be
applied.
The default is set to the Global coordinate system, which is automatically created upon geometry import.
-
Define the load.
- Click the Force and/or Moment tab.
- Select force and/or moment units.
- Enter the force and/or moment directional components in the X, Y, and Z coordinate fields.
-
For Non-linear Structural analysis, specify either a follower force or a fixed
direction force.
- Select the Is follower load check box to specify a follower load.
- Leave the check box blank to specify a fixed direction force.
- Click OK.
