Apply displacements to faces and/or spots that are statistically equivalent to a load
applied on a single point.
Remote displacement is only available for structural linear and non-linear analysis
types.
-
In the Project Tree, click the Analysis Workbench.
-
In the workbench toolbar, click the (Remote
displacements) icon.
-
Specify which type of entity will have loads applied.
- Optional:
If applying to Spots, you can create new spots by clicking Create
new spot.
-
In the modeling window, select the desired face(s) on
the model.
The Units and Remote point coordinates fields will become active and
automatically populate.
- Optional:
If necessary, edit the Remote point X, Y, and Z coordinates by clearing the
Set at COG check box.
-
Specify the coordinate system to which the displacement will be applied.
The default is set to the Global coordinate system, which is automatically
created upon geometry import.
-
Define the displacement(s).
-
Click the Translation and/or
Rotation tab.
-
Select translation and/or rotation units.
-
Enter the translations and/or rotations directional components in the
X, Y, and Z coordinate fields.
-
Click OK.
