In thermal analysis, limit temperature on the selected faces, edges, vertices, or
spots to a prescribed value.
For steady state thermal analysis, the temperature input is the temperature
difference (Tfinal - Tinitial). For thermal transient
analysis, it is the final temperature.
-
Int the Project Tree, click the
Thermal branch to open the Analysis Workbench.
-
On the Analysis Workbench toolbar, select (Temperature).
-
In the dialog, use the radio buttons to select to what entity the spot will be
applied.
-
On the modeling window, click to select specific parts on the model.
- Optional:
If applying to Spots, you can create new spots by clicking Create
new spot.
- Optional:
You can select the Add tangent faces check box.
-
Specify Temperature change units and value.
-
Click OK.
The load will appear in the Thermal branch under Thermal conditions.
Once you have applied temperature, the application then determines the
temperature at every location of your model for which you have not prescribed
it.
