Start HyperWorks Applications on Windows

Startup options can be supplied to the application by modifying the shortcuts, or creating new ones, and adding the required options.

Start HyperWorks applications via GUI mode.
1. From the Start menu, select HyperWorks 2022.
2. Select the application shortcut to run.
Start HyperWorks applications via command prompt.
1. Launch the system command prompt and change the directory from which the HyperWorks application should be run.
2. Enter the full path of the HyperWorks application executable, along with any startup options.
  Example:
  <altair_home>\hw\bin\<platform>\hw.exe

HyperWorks opens, and loads the client you selected.

Launch the system terminal and change to the directory from which the HyperWorks application should be run.

Enter the full path of the HyperWorks application start script, along with any startup options.

Example: <altair_home>/altair/scripts/hv

Start Script	Description
hg	Starts HyperWorks, and loads the HyperGraph 2D client.
hmdesktop	Starts HyperWorks, and loads the HyperMesh client.
hv	Starts HyperWorks, and loads the HyperView client.
hw	Starts HyperWorks, and loads the default client.
mview	Starts HyperWorks, and loads the MotionView client.
