Axle
The Axle component is required to define the options in the Axle Properties section.
Axle Properties
- Type
- Defines the type of axle orientation.
- UnderSlung:
- OverSlung:
- Front Inactive Length
- Defines the estimated inactive length on the front half of the spring.
- Rear Inactive Length
- Defines the estimated inactive length of the rear half of the spring.
- Leaf Pack Thickness
- Defines the pack thickness at the center of the leaf spring. This is now redundant and you do not have to enter it anymore.
- Load on Leaf Pack
- Provides the force that has to be applied to the leaf system for design-loading.
- Angle with x-axis
- Angle of the leaf pack with x-axis that is positive in the counter clockwise direction and negative in the clockwise direction.
- Leaf Reference Location
- Specify the bolt center location of the top or bottom leaf in the leaf
pack depending upon the axle type of the system.
- If the system is ‘Underslung’, then it will be a bolt center location of the top most leaf.
- If the system is ‘Overslung’, then it will be a bolt center location of the bottom most leaf.
Axle Details for Leaf Property File (*lpf)
